Hailing from New Orleans, LA, Lowerline garnered the title "The Hardest Working Band in New Orleans" by their peers. When a show was happening, they were playing and that work ethic payed off as they finished 2nd in Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Band Contest in 2003. The band showed a lot promise and was vastly creating a fan base outside of New Orleans. In 2004, they released the full length album "The Clearer I See" and began plowing into new markets in Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas and Alabama. They were even on a rolling selection of local bands picked by the House of Blues to provide support to National Touring acts when tragedy struck as Hurricane Katrina brought the party to a grinding halt. Drummer Jimmy Adams saw the writing on the wall for the band just days following the storm's landfall and the Lake Pontchartrain Levy breach. Vocalist Matt Mysing saw CNN trolling down his street in a boat where they were touching the street sign as more than 6 Feet of flood water had gotten into his apartment. Lowerline was done; for now.... Through the years, this tight knit group of friends stayed in touch as their lives veered in different directions. In 2015, and surprisingly with new music, Lowerline came out of the shadows for a 10 year Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina at the Twist of Lime of Metairie, LA. Along with other local New Orleans bands who had met the same fate after the storm. After 15 years, Lowerline decided to get back into the studio. Armed with a new bass player, new music and a thirst to hit the stage, Lowerline is prepped to swing for the fences with its 3rd official studio release. This 4 song EP, titled “Heavy Waters,” brings the band full circle. Recorded with Ryan Toussel at 13 Studios and Produced by Damien Starkey (Puddle of Mudd, Burn Season) at Red Attic Studios in Jacksonville, FL.
