From a retail counter to a global service company

Founded in 2013 as Rock In The Fast Lane Co. the original business model was retail-based — selling hard rock and metal CDs, tee shirts and music memorabilia. That expanded into media with the Rock In The Fast Lane Blog, featuring interviews with artists across the hard rock and heavy metal spectrum, album reviews and promotion.

In 2016 the idea to start a record label was nurtured and brought into fruition. Starting with the signing of two tri-state artists on the rise, the label began its mission. In 2017 growth arrived, the support team expanded and several signings followed through 2020 and into the pandemic. With a roster including prominent artists from Canada, Sweden, Finland, South America and the US, RFL was making a name in the indie label world.

With the onset of Covid and a deteriorating music climate, it was decided that it was best for the business to cease operations and re-evaluate. To operate in the ever-changing music world, the business partners looked to the future and developed a diverse business model going into 2023 and beyond.

While the label was being re-evaluated, the Talk In The Fast Lane Podcast — expanded in 2016 out of the blog — showed significant growth, interviewing artists and supporting several major labels in the hard rock and metal industry. The podcast hit its 100th episode and has since grown with the addition of The Fast Lane Metal Radio Show on Wild Dogs Radio.

In 2025, a chat between partners in the music business turned into a plan: build a platform for young, up-and-coming artists to grow their brand and fanbase. With 60+ years of combined experience, three partners united behind a one-stop shop for artists of any caliber. With PR, global distribution, artist development and major radio experience, the partners relaunched as RFL Music Entertainment, LLC.

The future of RFL Music Entertainment is now — and the music landscape has a new force to be reckoned with.
